For those of you considering participating in our Amateur Cake Decorating contest here are the details:
Cake+Loaf is proud to announce our first annual Cake Decorating Competition on March 19th at Fenian Films on Locke St S. Participants will have 90mins to decorate a styrofoam cake in the theme of “Spring”. Participants must be 17 years of age or older and not professional cake decorators. Teams will have a maximum of 3 members and there will be 3 teams competing. There is an entry fee of $25/team
Teams will be provided with the following 1 week prior to the event in order to prepare decorative pieces. These supplies must be returned the day of the Cake Off:
· Assorted gel colours
· 1lb gumpaste
· Dry Royal Icing Mix
· Assorted tools and piping bags with tips
Teams will be provided with the following the day of the competition:
· 3 round styrofoam cake tiers 6”, 9”, 12”
· 4lbs fondant
· 1lb Royal Icing
· Pallet knives
· Assorted tools
The competition will begin at 3pm. Teams must arrive by 2:30 to set up their stations. Cakes will be judged by a panel of cake experts at 4:30pm and the winning team will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to Cake+Loaf Bakery. Please contact us at
